Crowns/Onlay Restorations

When a tooth sustains structural damage, like a fracture or break, a cap or crown can restore your tooth’s form and function. Crowns can also be used to reinforce a tooth that has old, worn out fillings. Until recently, porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns were used to mimic a natural tooth. Today, we use all ceramic (porcelain) crowns, because they look and feel as natural as original teeth. The strong tooth-crown bond will strengthen your tooth and restore a comfortable bite.

Onlays are fillings that preserve as much of the healthy tooth structure as possible. They are formed out of porcelain and, like crowns, are bonded to the remaining tooth structure. Once onlays are placed in your mouth, you will notice how natural they look and feel. The aesthetics are fantastic!

Now we can fabricate a porcelain restoration in one appointment using CEREC technology. Ask us if you are a candidate for this option.
