Do you have a first visit with our Beachwood office coming up?

If you've never visited us before, you may wonder what a checkup with Dr. Hornstein may be like. At your initial visit, we will perform an oral cancer screening, a tooth-by-tooth examination, and an evaluation of your periodontal health. Oral cancer can often go undetected, which is why it is extremely important to catch the disease early, before it has progressed into advanced stages. Our dental artists know exactly what to look for, and can provide you with a thorough screening. As part of our general and family dentistry services, our soft-tissue therapy will also gently and meticulously clean your teeth. These services will ensure that your beautiful, glowing smile is also healthy and fully-functional.

Because we want you to enjoy your gorgeous smile for life, we will schedule your subsequent general dentistry exams and cleanings at intervals based on your particular needs. Our Beachwood dental office aims to provide the highest quality care in the most comfortable environment, and with our general dentistry services available, we can do just that.

Dental technology helps us provide quality general dentistry care

Our Beachwood dental office uses some of the latest dental technology to better detect oral health problems early, which helps us better diagnose and treat issues such as cavities and gum disease. The DIAGNOdent is one such invaluable tool. This piece of dental equipment uses a laser to discover areas where cavities are forming, often before we’d ever be able to detect these cavities with a visual exam. Preventing cavities and stopping them before they get too destructive is a big part of what general dentistry is all about, and that’s why DIAGNOdent is such a great piece of technology.

We also use digital imaging during your general dentistry checkups to get a good view of your overall oral health. This technology allows you to get a good view of your teeth and gums as well! Digital imaging helps us educate you about your oral health and determine course of treatment with you as a team.

Gum disease treatment

Your gum health can directly determine whether or not you get to keep your teeth for your entire lifetime. That’s why we offer periodontal therapy as part of our general dentistry care at the Center for Advanced Dentistry in Beachwood. That’s why our staff includes soft-tissue therapists who provide non-surgical periodontal therapy to treat gum disease. During your general dental visits, we’ll make sure to look for signs of gum disease, some of which would be impossible for you to detect on your own. You could have gum disease and not know it until more extensive and advanced damage has occurred. That’s why we recommend that you come in for dental exams twice a year.

Massage Therapy for TMJD

The Center for Advanced Dentistry has a licensed massage therapist with special training in the treatment of muscle pain associated with TMJ dysfunction. Part of our goal as a general dental office is to keep your jaw functioning correctly. When your temporomandibular joint (TMJ) gets out of whack, it can cause serious chronic pain and problems. Our massage therapist has studied at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies for training in neuromuscular therapies to help general dentist Dr. Benjamin Hornstein treat TMJ dysfunction.

If it’s been a while since your last general dentistry exam, visit our Beachwood office soon! Dr. Hornstein and our team of hygienists, soft-tissue therapists, and dental assistants will help you achieve optimal oral health.
