Crown/Onlay Restorations
Many times when a tooth breaks, a cap or crown is needed to restore
your broken tooth back to working condition. Also as large fillings break
down, a crown might be recommended to reinforce your tooth. Until recently,
porcelain fused to metal was used to mimic a natural tooth. Today all
ceramic (porcelain) crowns are used to replace broken or worn teeth.
These crowns are as natural as your original teeth. These particular
restorations are bonded to your remaining tooth structure and actually
strengthen it.
Onlays are fillings that preserve as much of the healthy tooth structure
as possible. They are formed out of porcelain and, like crowns, are bonded
to the remaining tooth structure. Once these fillings are placed in your
mouth, you will notice how natural they look and feel. The aesthetics
are fantastic!!
Now we can fabricate a porcelain restoration in one appointment
using a CEREC crown or onlay. Ask us if you are a candidate for
this option
