Porcelain Veneers and Lumineers

If you would love a gorgeous smile, like the ones you see on magazines or the big screen, your dentist may suggest porcelain veneers or minimal-prep veneers such as Lumineers. These thin shells of high-quality porcelain will cover the surfaces of your front teeth. While selecting traditional porcelain veneers or minimal-prep veneers to update your smile, Dr. Hornstein will carefully consider your skin tone, facial features, and personal preferences.

The whole process, from design to placement, usually takes only two or three appointments. At the first visit, the dentist will examine your teeth, take impressions, and prepare your teeth by removing a small amount of tooth enamel to make sure your porcelain veneers fit flush against the teeth and evenly with the gum line without appearing bulky. We will also fit you with temporary veneers, which give patients a feel for their new smiles. During the final appointment, the dentist will make adjustments if necessary and then place your final restorations, so you will leave with a magnificent smile.

In some cases, the dentist will recommend minimal-prep veneers called Lumineers. Before treatment begins, Dr. Hornstein will carefully examine your smile to determine the best option. Lumineers are constructed from contact-lens thin porcelain and can be placed directly on the front teeth without removal of any tooth structure. The procedure is totally reversible, so you can return to your natural smile at any time if you so desire. While some patients prefer Lumineers’ less invasive procedure, others choose traditional porcelain veneers because of the totally custom design. Dr. Hornstein will work with you so that you achieve an amazing, new smile.
