Teaching Beachwood Families About Our Dental Office

We see all kinds of dentistry patients on a regular basis, and as a result we regularly receive many interesting questions about our dental office and dentistry in general. Below are some of the questions that we receive most often, along with clear, concise answers for your convenience. If your own question isn’t addressed on this page, don’t worry; we’re more than eager to answer it personally! Give our dental office a call if there’s anything you want to know about us.

Where are you located?

The Center for Advanced Dentistry is near Chagrin Blvd. and I-271 in Beachwood, Ohio, which is in the Southeast Cleveland Metropolitan area. We are 20 minutes from Hopkins Airport and 20 minutes from downtown Cleveland. Our patients come from literally all around the world! See our contact us page for a map and driving directions.

Why do you recommend porcelain for large Dental restorations?

Porcelain matches the properties of your natural tooth structure. Unlike metal crowns and bridges, porcelain is also chemically bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art technology.

Why don't you use silver mercury fillings?

We have never used mercury fillings at our dental office. We wanted to minimize the potential exposure to our team from mercury, and therefore, we found other materials more suitable for the restorations that we create for our patients.

There is much controversy on this issue; even though mercury fillings are outlawed in several European countries, the ADA still deems them as an acceptable method of restoring teeth. Therefore, we cannot recommend that our patients have their silver fillings removed just for the sake of getting the mercury out of their teeth. However, many people have researched about the dental options available to them and have chosen to have them replaced with tooth-colored fillings. Since our philosophy is to support patients in the choices they make for their oral health, we do all we can do to assist them in this way.

What sterilization methods do you use?

The sterilization procedures we follow meet or exceed the guidelines established by OSHA, the Centers for Disease Control, and the American Dental Association. Our dental office uses the most advanced sterilization control measures available today. Please feel free to ask for more information about the measures we take to ensure the safety of your family.
